The mobile version of the T6 double pump carries two cartridges on one shaft, as the standard version does, and adds a second variable: whether the pump has one shaft seal or two. That choice appears in the model number itself, and it changes the shaft codes that are available further along the string.
The sections below take the eleven positions in order, set out the three shaft tables that apply to each model, and give the cam ring lists with their delivery figures. Four example strings are decoded at the end.
M and P, one shaft seal apart
Every mobile double exists in two versions. The letter M marks the version with one shaft seal, the letter P the version with two, and the two share the rest of the code structure.
| One shaft seal | Two shaft seals | Front section, P1 | Rear section, P2 |
|---|---|---|---|
| T6CCM | T6CCP | C group | C group |
| T6DCM | T6DCP | D group | C group |
| T6ECM | T6ECP | E group | C group |
| T6EDM | T6EDP | E group | D group |
The second seal sits between the pump and the drive, which is the arrangement used where the machine has its own oil in the drive housing and the two fluids must not mix. The P version also reduces the number of shaft codes offered, which is set out under position 5.
The eleven positions at a glance
The example strings read T6CC* W - B22 - B08 - 1 R 00 - D 1 - 00 and T6DC* W - B38 - B22 - 1 R 00 - C 1, where the asterisk stands for M or P. Position by position:
| Position | Meaning | Value in the example |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Series and shaft seal count | T6CC with M or P |
| 2 | Severe duty shaft, optional | W |
| 3 | Displacement, front section P1 | B22 |
| 4 | Displacement, rear section P2 | B08 |
| 5 | Shaft | 1 |
| 6 | Rotation, viewed on the shaft end | R |
| 7 | Porting combination | 00 |
| 8 | Design letter | D |
| 9 | Seal class | 1 |
| 10 | Port form | 00 |
| 11 | Modification code | blank |
Position 1: M or P, and the four cartridge combinations
Position 1 carries both the cartridge pair and the seal count. The pairs are the same four as the standard doubles, with the mobile letter added.
| Position 1 | P1 group | P2 group |
|---|---|---|
| T6CCM, T6CCP | C group | C group |
| T6DCM, T6DCP | D group | C group |
| T6ECM, T6ECP | E group | C group |
| T6EDM, T6EDP | E group | D group |
There is no T6CD and no T6CE: the section with the larger displacement is always listed first, which is the subject of a section below.
Position 2: W, severe duty shaft only
This position is marked use for severe duty shaft only. When the letter W appears, the pump is built with the severe duty shaft, and position 5 has to be read from the third of the three shaft tables rather than from the M or P table.
| Model | Severe duty version | Shaft codes in the W version |
|---|---|---|
| T6CCM, T6CCP | T6CC*W | 2 keyed SAE BB; R keyed special; T splined SAE J718c |
| T6DCM, T6DCP | T6DC*W | 5 keyed non-SAE; T splined SAE J718c |
The two E-section combinations are listed without a severe duty shaft table, so a machine that needs the higher shaft rating has to be served by one of the smaller pairs.
Positions 3 and 4: the two stator codes
Each section is specified separately, and the values are deliveries in litres per minute at 0 bar and 1500 r/min rather than millilitres per revolution. The three groups hold thirteen, eleven and seven codes.
| Group | Code and delivery in l/min at 1500 r/min | ||||||||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| C | B03 16.2 | B05 25.8 | B06 31.9 | B08 39.6 | B10 51.1 | B12 55.6 | B14 69.0 | B17 87.4 | B20 95.7 | B22 105.4 | B25 118.9 | B28 133.2 | B31 150.0 |
| D | B14 71.4 | B17 87.3 | B20 99.0 | B24 119.3 | B28 134.5 | B31 147.4 | B35 166.5 | B38 180.4 | B42 204.0 | B45 218.5 | B50 237.0 | — | — |
| E | 042 198.5 | 045 213.6 | 050 237.7 | 052 247.2 | 062 295.0 | 066 319.9 | 072 340.6 | — | — | — | — | — | — |
Two points follow. The same code does not mean the same delivery in different groups — B14 is 69.0 l/min in the C group and 71.4 l/min in the D group — and the E group is written with three digits alone, while C and D codes carry the B prefix.
The largest cartridge goes at the front
The rule is: the largest cartridge must always be mounted in the front. That is why T6DC and T6ED exist and T6CD and T6CE do not, and why position 3 is never smaller than position 4.
The rule also applies when a quotation is written: the larger section is stated first, in the P1 position, and the smaller section second, because the reverse order does not describe a differently configured pump but one that does not exist.
Position 5: the shaft, and the three tables behind it
This is the position where the mobile version differs most from the standard one. Each model has three shaft tables — one for the M version, one for the P version and one for the severe duty W version — and the same digit does not carry the same meaning across them.
| Model | M version, one shaft seal | P version, two shaft seals | W version, severe duty |
|---|---|---|---|
| T6CC* | 1 keyed non-SAE; 3 splined SAE BB; 5 splined SAE B | 3 splined non-SAE; 4 splined SAE BB; 6 splined non-SAE | 2 keyed SAE BB; R keyed special; T splined SAE J718c |
| T6DC* | 1 keyed SAE C; 2 keyed non-SAE; 3 splined SAE C; 4 splined non-SAE | 3 splined non-SAE | 5 keyed non-SAE; T splined SAE J718c |
| T6EC*, T6ED* | 1 keyed SAE CC; 2 keyed non-SAE; 3 splined SAE C; 4 splined SAE CC; T splined SAE J718c | 3 splined non-SAE | Not listed for these two combinations |
Code 3 illustrates the risk: on a T6CCM it is a splined SAE BB shaft, on a T6CCP a splined non-SAE shaft, and on a T6DCM a splined SAE C shaft. The model number has to be read together with the code, and the seal count decides which table applies.
Position 6: rotation
R is clockwise and L is counter-clockwise, both read looking at the shaft end. The letter is fixed at assembly and applies to both sections.
Position 7: the porting combination
The code states how the ports of the two sections are arranged relative to each other and to the mounting flange. In this version 00 is the standard arrangement, and the remaining combinations place the ports differently.
| Code | Arrangement |
|---|---|
| 00 | Standard porting combination |
| Other codes | Alternative arrangements, with the ports placed differently |
Positions 8 to 10: design letter, seal class and port form
| Position | Meaning | Values |
|---|---|---|
| 8 | Design letter | D on T6CC*; C on T6DC*, T6EC* and T6ED* |
| 9 | Seal class | 1 = Buna-N |
| 10 | Port form | 4-bolt SAE flange J518; the codes are set out below |
The design letter differs from the standard double of the same cartridge pair: the mobile T6CC* prints D where the standard T6CC prints C, and the mobile T6DC*, T6EC* and T6ED* print C where their standard counterparts print B. Two pumps that look alike on the shelf are therefore not described by the same string.
Port forms and the displacement limits
The pressure port of the front section is always 1 in across this family, and the two suction sizes carry two pairs of codes.
| Suction size | Codes | Pressure port, P2 | Displacement limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| S = 3 in | 00 and 01 | 00 gives P2 = 1 in; 01 gives P2 = 3/4 in | 46 ml/rev maximum |
| S = 2.1/2 in | 10 and 11 | As above, at the smaller suction size | 126 ml/rev maximum |
The two limits are the ones to carry into an enquiry: a large combination cannot be ordered with the first pair of codes, however the rest of the string reads.
Four example strings, decoded
The four example strings, read against the positions above.
| String | Sections | Shaft | Rotation | Design and seal |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| T6CC* W – B22 – B08 – 1 R 00 – D 1 – 00 | C group B22 in front, C group B08 behind | 1, from the W table | R | D, class 1 |
| T6DC* W – B38 – B22 – 1 R 00 – C 1 | D group B38 in front, C group B22 behind | 1, from the W table | R | C, class 1 |
| T6EC* – 066 – B22 – 1 R 00 – C 1 – | E group 066 in front, C group B22 behind | 1, no W | R | C, class 1 |
| T6ED* – 066 – B38 – 1 R 00 – C 1 – | E group 066 in front, D group B38 behind | 1, no W | R | C, class 1 |
Read as a set, the four strings show the two variables in play. The first two carry the W and take their shaft code from the severe duty table; the last two do not, and their shaft code comes from the M or P table of the same model. The third and fourth differ only in the rear section, which is where the E-section combinations separate from one another.
Set against the standard double of the same cartridge pair, the mobile string differs in three places: the seal count in position 1, the design letter in position 8, and the delivery figures behind the stator codes. A mobile T6EC* and a standard T6EC are not the same pump even when both read 066 in front and B22 behind.
What to confirm before ordering
- One shaft seal or two. The letter M or P is part of the model number, and it decides which shaft table applies.
- The W, and the shaft table it selects. The severe duty version has its own codes, including R and T.
- The shaft code against the model and the version. Code 3 means three different shafts across this family.
- The total displacement. Codes 00 and 01 stop at 46 ml/rev, and 10 and 11 at 126 ml/rev.
- The two sections in order. The larger cartridge is always at the front.
- Design letter and modification code. Read both from the old nameplate.
- Which version the string belongs to. The mobile version uses deliveries in l/min and its own design letters; the standard version uses displacement in ml/rev.
Ordering
If you are replacing a mobile double, send the complete string from the nameplate: the seal count, both stator codes, the shaft code and the design letter. Where the nameplate is worn, a photograph of the mounting flange and of the shaft end is usually enough for us to identify the version before anything is shipped.
The double pump range and the single pump range show what we hold, and the T-series overview covers cartridges and seal kits. Specific strings can go through the contact page.
