T6 Through-Drive Triples: T6DCCR and T6EDCR, Three Sections Plus an Auxiliary Pump

The T6DCCR and T6EDCR are the through-drive versions of the T6 triples. Three main sections run on one shaft, and the rear cap carries a coupling adaptor for an SAE A auxiliary pump with nine teeth, so a second pump can be driven directly from the back of the triple.

Everything else follows the code of the standard triples: three cartridge positions, a shaft code, rotation, porting, design letter, seal class and the port form. The differences are the shaft options and the extra field on the E model.

Two models, and what the rear cap carries

Model Sections Rear cap Shaft codes
T6DCCR D + C + C SAE A auxiliary pump, 9-tooth adaptor 2 and 3
T6EDCR E + D + C SAE A auxiliary pump, 9-tooth adaptor 1 and 3

The string, field by field

The T6DCCR example reads T6DCCR - 038 - 028 - 008 - 2 R 00 - A 1 00 - .. and the T6EDCR example reads T6EDCR - 062 - 035 - 017 - 1 R 00 - A 1 - P 0 - ...

The cartridge groups on the T6DCCR

Displacements are in ml/rev. The front position reads the eleven-code D group and the two rear positions share one thirteen-code C group, so P2 and P3 are chosen from the same table.

The cartridge groups on the T6EDCR

The E model reads three groups, and the two rear positions write their codes with a leading zero. The front group is smaller than on the doubles: it stops at 072.

Shaft codes

The T6DCCR is built with either a keyed SAE CC shaft, code 2, or a shaft splined to SAE D and E, code 3. There is no non-SAE keyed option on this model. The T6EDCR takes a keyed shaft to G45N under ISO 3019-2 as code 1, or the same SAE D and E splined shaft as code 3.

Rotation and the porting combination

Rotation is given as seen from the shaft end, R clockwise and L counter-clockwise. The porting combination sets how the three port sets sit relative to each other and to the mounting face, with 00 as the standard arrangement.

Design letter and seal classes

The design letter is A on both models. Three seal classes are offered: 1, S1 in BUNA N, for mineral oil; 4, S4 in EPDM, for fire-resistant fluids; and 5, S5 in VITON, for mineral oil and fire-resistant fluids.

The pedestal option on the T6EDCR

The E model carries one more field before the port form: P is a pedestal mounting, which carries the pump on a foot rather than on the flange alone. The T6DCCR has no such field.

Port forms

On the T6DCCR the suction port is 4 in, the front pressure port 1.1/4 in and the middle port 1 in, while the rear port is either 1 in or 3/4 in. The code names the thread and that rear size: 00 and M0 for the 1 in port, 01 and M1 for 3/4 in, with M marking metric threads.

On the T6EDCR the field carries a single character and names the rear port size only: 0 for a 1 in SAE port and 1 for 3/4 in.

Mounting torques

Model Mounting torques
T6DCCR 68 Nm and 187 Nm
T6EDCR 300 Nm, 190 Nm and 90 Nm

What to confirm before ordering

  • All three cartridge codes. On the T6DCCR the rear positions share one group; on the T6EDCR they do not, and both use the leading-zero form.
  • The shaft, which differs between the two models. The T6DCCR offers 2 and 3, the T6EDCR 1 and 3.
  • The rear port size, the only port dimension the code changes.
  • Which auxiliary pump will be driven, since the rear cap takes an SAE A pump through a nine-tooth coupling.

Ordering

Send the complete string from the nameplate, with all three cartridge codes in order and the shaft code. Where the plate is worn, photographs of the mounting face, the shaft end and the rear cap identify the build before anything is shipped.
