T6GCC PTO Double Vane Pumps: Ten Code Fields, Two Cartridge Codes

The T6GCC is the direct-mount double of the PTO vane pump family: a two-section pump that bolts straight to a power take-off, with no separate drive shaft between the two. It shares the mounting pattern and the single shaft code of the PTO single pump, and it is ordered with the same ten field structure as the rest of the T6 range.

What separates it from other T6 doubles is the cartridge list: both sections are drawn from one C-group table, printed as a single set of thirteen stator codes. Everything below reads the ordering string field by field.

PTO mounting, and what the double adds

A PTO pump is driven from the vehicle or machine transmission through a splined connection, so the pump carries no foot or flange mounting of its own on the drive side. On the T6GCC the front section bolts to the rear section through an intermediate adaptor, and the resulting assembly weighs 27.2 kg against 18.0 kg for the single-section PTO pump.

The second section adds its own flow rather than splitting the first one, so both sections deliver to the circuit at the same time. That is what a two-circuit machine needs: one section for the main function, one for a secondary function or a cooling and filtration loop.

The string, field by field

The model number T6GCC - B22 - B08 - 6 R 00 - B 1 - 00 fills nine of the ten fields. The modification field is left empty in that example. The table lists all ten in the order they appear.

Field Function Example Values
1 Series T6GCC PTO direct-mount double
2 Cartridge P1, front section B22 C group, thirteen stator codes
3 Cartridge P2, rear section B08 Same C group table as P1
4 Shaft 6 One code only: splined, DIN 5462
5 Rotation, seen from the shaft end R R clockwise, L counter-clockwise
6 Porting combination 00 00 is the standard arrangement; thirty-two are diagrammed
7 Design letter B Fixed for this series
8 Seal class 1 1 is S1, BUNA N
9 Port form and thread 00 Four combinations, two codes each
10 Modification empty Left empty unless a build deviates

Fields 2 and 3: the two cartridge codes

Both sections read from the same table, so the code letters mean the same capacity in either position. The figure beside each code is the delivery at 0 bar and 1500 r/min, and the volumetric displacement is given so that the same stator can be recognised in either unit.

Code Displacement ml/rev Delivery l/min at 1500 r/min
B03 10.8 16.2
B05 17.2 25.8
B06 21.3 31.9
B08 26.4 39.6
B10 34.1 51.1
B12 37.1 55.6
B14 46.0 69.0
B17 58.3 87.4
B20 63.8 95.7
B22 70.3 105.4
B25 79.3 118.9
B28 88.8 133.2
B31 100.0 150.0

The larger cartridge goes at the front

The rule for the two cartridge positions is fixed: the larger cartridge is always fitted at the front. In the ordering string that means the P1 code must be equal to or larger than the P2 code, and a string written the other way round describes a pump that does not exist.

Because both sections share one table, a valid pair is any two codes from the thirteen in that order. The common builds put a large front section against a small rear section, for instance B22 with B08, which is the pair used in the example string.

Field 4: one shaft code, and a combined torque limit

The PTO double is offered with a single shaft: code 6, a splined shaft to DIN 5462, in the size B8-32-36. There is no keyed alternative, so the drive coupling has to match that spline.

The shaft rating is quoted as a product rather than a torque: Vi x p max = 32670. The value covers both sections together (P1 + P2), so a build with two large cartridges reaches that limit sooner than its section pressures alone would suggest. Confirm the combined figure before ordering a high-displacement pair.

Field 5: rotation

Rotation is stated as seen from the shaft end: R for clockwise and L for counter-clockwise. The PTO drive determines which one is needed, and the two are not interchangeable on a splined drive.

Field 6: the porting combination

This field sets how the ports of the two sections are arranged relative to each other and to the mounting face. 00 is the standard arrangement; the page diagrams thirty-two combinations in all, numbered from 00 to 31, and the code in the nameplate string identifies which one a given pump carries.

Fields 7 and 8: design letter and seal class

The design letter is B throughout this series. The seal class is 1, which is S1 in BUNA N, suited to mineral oil. A pump that has run on a fire-resistant fluid or on a fluid needing a different seal compound will not carry 1 in that position.

Field 9: the port form, four combinations

The port form field carries two characters. Four combinations of suction and pressure port sizes are offered, and each is written with two codes, one for UNC threads and one for metric threads.

Suction S Pressure P1 Pressure P2 Codes
3 in 1 in 1 in 00 and 0M
3 in 1 in 3/4 in 01 and M0
2.1/2 in 1 in 1 in 10 and 1M
2.1/2 in 1 in 3/4 in 11 and M1

In the code pair, 0 marks the UNC thread and M the metric thread. Two size limits attach to the smaller ports: a 3/4 in pressure port is used up to 46 ml/rev, and a 2.1/2 in suction port up to 126 ml/rev.

The port codes on the PTO single pump are written differently: four separate codes (00, 01, M0, M1) covering BSPP and SAE threads in imperial and metric versions. The two sets are not interchangeable, so a code should always be read against the series it came from.

Field 10: the modification code

The last field records a deviation from the standard build, such as a special shaft or a different port arrangement for one customer. It is empty on standard pumps, which is why the example string ends at the port form field.

Flow and power at 1500 r/min

The figures below are typical values for one section at 24 cSt, at 0 bar, 140 bar and 240 bar outlet, with the input power taken at a 7 bar, 140 bar and 240 bar pressure rise. A double delivers the sum of its two sections when both work at the same time.

Speed, pressure and leakage limits

Three stator codes carry a higher speed limit than the rest: B25, B28 and B31 run to 2500 r/min. The same three plus the two limits on internal leakage define the working envelope.

Pressure is limited for the two largest codes: B28 and B31 are rated to 210 bar continuous internal pressure. The same two codes appear with a 240 bar column figure only where that limit is respected.

Internal leakage sets a second limit that is easy to miss: a pump must not be run for more than 5 seconds at any speed or viscosity once leakage exceeds 50% of theoretical flow. A worn double can therefore pass a pressure test and still be outside its operating condition, which is why leakage is worth measuring before a replacement is ordered.

Mounting dimensions and port sizes

The suction and pressure ports are located by four dimensions, given here as A, B, C and D in millimetres, with the thread size in the last column.

Port A B C D Thread
Suction 3 in 106.4 61.9 76.2 28.4 5/8 in – 11 UNC x 28.4 deep, M16 metric
Suction 2.1/2 in 88.9 50.8 63.5 23.9 1/2 in – 13 UNC x 23.9 deep, M12 metric
Pressure P1 1 in 52.4 26.2 25.4 76.2 3/8 in – 16 UNC x 19 deep, M10 metric
Pressure P2 3/4 in 47.7 22.4 19.0 76.2 3/8 in – 16 UNC x 19 deep, M10 metric
Pressure P2 1 in 52.4 26.2 25.4 74.7 3/8 in – 16 UNC x 19 deep, M10 metric

Two mounting torques apply: 61 Nm on the four holes of the smaller circle and 159 Nm on the four holes of the larger one. Both circles take 3/8 in – 16 UNC bolts 19 mm deep, or M10 in the metric version. A drain hole sits between the two shaft seals, and it has to stay open: it carries away whatever reaches the space between the seals.

What to confirm before ordering

Four things decide whether a T6GCC string is right:

  • The two cartridge codes, in the right order. The larger section belongs at the front; a string with the pair reversed does not describe a buildable pump.
  • The combined shaft load. The torque limit applies to Vi x p over both sections, not to one of them.
  • The port form field. Check the suction and pressure sizes, then whether the machine needs UNC or metric threads.
  • Rotation and spline. A PTO drive determines both, and the shaft code is the same on every T6GCC.

Ordering

Send the complete string from the nameplate, including the two cartridge codes and the port form. Where the plate is worn, photographs of the port face and of the shaft end are usually enough for us to identify the version before anything is shipped.

The T6 double pump range and the T6 single pump range show what we hold, and the T-series overview covers the full family and the cartridge kits. Specific strings can go through the contact page.
