Three sections, three outlets
Three independent circuits from one drive point is what this pump is for. The double section feeds outlets 1 and 2, the V10 cover section adds outlet 3, and each circuit takes its own flow — which is also why the code has to name the shaft-end, centre and cover sections separately.
A VQSV10 triple carries three cartridge sections on one shaft: a VQ double section at the shaft end and in the centre, and a V10 section at the cover end. The double section feeds outlets 1 and 2; the V10 section adds outlet 3, so one drive serves three circuits at three independent flows.
The frame number follows the double section: the first pair of digits is the shaft-end section and the second pair the centre section. 3525VQSV10 is a 35-series section at the shaft end with a 25-series section in the centre and a V10 section at the cover end. Five combinations are built: 2520VQSV10, 3520VQSV10, 3525VQSV10, 4525VQSV10 and 4535VQSV10.
The code runs to 19 positions, because three flows and three outlet positions have to be named instead of two. Three of those positions — the SAE mounting, the V10 cover choice and the outlet connection of the V10 section — exist only on a triple.
The 19 positions at a glance
| # | Position | What it sets |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Seals | F3 for phosphate-ester and other fire-resistant fluids; omitted for mineral oil |
| 2 | Double pump series | 2520VQ · 3520VQ · 3525VQ · 4525VQ · 4535VQ |
| 3 | SAE mounting | S = SAE mounting per J744 |
| 4 | Cover-end pump series | V10 |
| 5 | V10 cover choice | S = standard cover · F = integral flow control and relief valve · P = integral priority valve and relief valve |
| 6 | Shaft-end flow | Code from the shaft-end table |
| 7 | Port connections | A = all SAE 4-bolt flange · AM = metric 4-bolt flange |
| 8 | Centre flow | Code from the centre table |
| 9 | Outlet 3 connection | S · T · K, set by the V10 cover |
| 10 | Cover-end flow | V10 code, 1 to 7 |
| 11 | Shaft seal | S = double shaft seal; omitted = single seal |
| 12 | Splined shaft | 297, all series |
| 13 | Outlet 1 position | Code from the outlet table |
| 14 | Outlet 2 position | Code from the outlet table |
| 15 | Outlet 3 position | Code from the outlet table |
| 16 | Controlled flow, V10F and V10P | 3 to 8; omitted on the standard cover |
| 17 | Relief valve setting, V10F and V10P | A to K; omitted on the standard cover |
| 18 | Design | Designs -20 to -29 keep the same installation dimensions |
| 19 | Rotation | L = left hand · R = right hand, read from the shaft end |
Positions 16 and 17 sit after the outlet positions, so the design number and the rotation stay at 18 and 19 whether the cover carries valves or not.
Series, mounting and the V10 cover: positions 2 to 5
Position 2 fixes the double section, position 3 the mounting, and positions 4 and 5 the cover-end pump and its cover. The V10 cover decides how outlet 3 behaves: S is the standard cover, F adds an integral flow control and relief valve, and P an integral priority valve and relief valve. Choosing F or P also opens positions 16 and 17, which set the controlled flow and the relief pressure.
Three flow codes: positions 6, 8 and 10
Each section takes its own flow code, and the same code means a different displacement depending on which section it sits in. The shaft-end section is coded on its own family, the centre section on the 20, 25 or 35 series, and the V10 cover section on the V10 scale:
| Section | Series used | Codes and displacement (cm³/r) |
|---|---|---|
| Shaft end (position 6) | 25 series on 2520VQ · 35 series on 3520VQ and 3525VQ · 45 series on 4525VQ and 4535VQ | 12 = 40.2 · 14 = 45.4 · 17 = 55.2 · 21 = 67.5 · 25 = 81.6 · 30 = 97.7 · 35 = 112.8 · 38 = 121.6 · 42 = 138.7 · 50 = 162.3 · 60 = 193.4 |
| Centre (position 8) | 20 series on 2520VQ and 3520VQ · 25 series on 3525VQ and 4525VQ · 35 series on 4535VQ | 5 = 18.0 · 8 = 27.4 · 11 = 36.4 · 12 = 39.5 · 14 = 45.9 · 12 = 40.2 · 14 = 45.4 · 17 = 55.2 · 21 = 67.5 · 25 = 81.6 · 30 = 97.7 · 35 = 112.8 · 38 = 121.6 |
| Cover end (position 10) | V10 | Delivery in USgpm at 1200 r/min and 100 psi: 1 · 2 · 3 · 4 · 5 · 6 · 7 |
The centre section is fixed by the frame: a 3520VQSV10 always carries a 20-series centre section and a 4535VQSV10 a 35-series one. A code that exists in one section’s table may not exist in another’s — 12 is 39.5 cm³/r in a 20-series centre section and 40.2 cm³/r in a 25-series one.
Port connections and the third outlet: positions 7 and 9
Position 7 covers the inlet and outlets 1 and 2 of the double section in one letter, and position 9 describes how outlet 3 leaves the V10 section under each cover:
| Position | Code | Connection |
|---|---|---|
| 7 — double section | A | Inlet and outlets 1 and 2 all on SAE 4-bolt flanges |
| 7 — double section | AM | Same as A, with metric threads for fastening the flanges |
| 9 — outlet 3, standard cover | S | .750-16 straight thread |
| 9 — outlet 3, flow control cover | T | .750-16 straight thread control port and tank port |
| 9 — outlet 3, priority valve cover | K | .5625-18 straight thread primary port and tank port, plus a .750-16 straight thread secondary port |
The V10 section drains internally to its inlet, so inlet pressure at that section stays at or below 1.4 bar (20 psi), and outlet pressure must always be higher than inlet pressure — the same two limits that apply to the VQ sections.
Shaft seal and shaft: positions 11 and 12
Position 11 gives the shaft seal: S for a double shaft seal, and nothing for a single seal. Position 12 is the shaft, and a triple takes the splined 297 shaft across every series — the straight keyed and heavy-duty shafts offered on a double pump are not part of this code.
The shaft end itself is dimensioned by frame size: 41.1 mm long with a 27.7 mm diameter on the 2520VQSV10, and 55.4 mm with 35.1 mm on the 3520VQSV10 and 3525VQSV10, and 55.4 mm with 40.4 mm on the 4525VQSV10 and 4535VQSV10.
Three outlet letters: positions 13, 14 and 15
Three outlets need three letters, read from the cover end. Outlets 1 and 3 are placed against the inlet on a four-step scale, while outlet 2 is normally read relative to outlet 1:
| Position measured from the inlet | Outlet 1 | Outlet 2 | Outlet 3 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Opposite the inlet | A | A (4535VQ only) | A |
| 135° counter-clockwise | — | A | — |
| 90° counter-clockwise | B | B (4535VQ only) | B |
| 45° counter-clockwise | — | B | — |
| Inline with the inlet | C | C (4535VQ only) | C |
| 45° clockwise | — | C | — |
| 90° clockwise | D | D (4535VQ only) | D |
| 135° clockwise | — | D | — |
On the four smaller frames outlet 2 is read on the finer scale, so a code such as CBB puts outlet 1 inline with the inlet, outlet 2 at 45° counter-clockwise from outlet 1 and outlet 3 inline with the inlet. Only the 4535VQSV10 reads outlet 2 against the inlet as well, which is why its column in the table is marked separately.
Controlled flow and relief: positions 16 and 17
A triple ordered with an F or P cover carries a flow control and a relief valve on the V10 section, and the two settings are written into the code right after the outlet positions:
| Position | Code | Setting |
|---|---|---|
| 16 — controlled flow | 3 · 4 · 5 · 6 · 7 · 8 | 11 · 15 · 19 · 23 · 27 · 30 L/min (3 to 8 USgpm) |
| 17 — relief valve setting | A · B · C · D · E · F · G · H · J · K | 17 · 35 · 52 · 70 · 86 · 100 · 121 · 140 · 155 · 175 bar |
With the standard S cover both positions are left out, because there is no valve on the section to set.
Design and rotation: positions 18 and 19
Position 18 carries the design number; designs -20 through -29 share the same installation dimensions, so a change of design does not move the mounting. Position 19 gives the direction of rotation seen from the shaft end: L for left hand and R for right hand.
Speed follows the V10 ring size
The maximum speed of a triple is set by the delivery of the V10 cover section rather than by the frame alone, and where the V10 runs above 70 bar (1000 psi) the limit is lower:
| V10 delivery (USgpm) | 2520VQSV10 | 3520VQSV10 | 3525VQSV10 | 4525VQSV10 | 4535VQSV10 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 · 2 · 3 | 2700 | 2500 | 2500 | 2200 | 2200 |
| 4 · 5 | 2700 | 2500 | 2200 / 2500 | 2200 | 2200 |
| 6 | 2200 / 2500 | 2200 / 2500 | 2200 / 2400 | 2200 | 2200 |
| 7 | 1900 / 2200 | 1900 / 2200 | 2200 | 2000 / 2200 | 2100 / 2200 |
Where two figures appear, the first applies when the V10 section runs above 70 bar and the second when it stays at or below 70 bar; a single figure applies either way. Pressure ratings are read per section: the VQ sections follow the VQ double pump ratings and the V10 section its own.

Common ordering mistakes
- Reading the three flow codes on one scale. Position 6, 8 and 10 are coded on three different sections, and a code such as 12 means 39.5 cm³/r in a 20-series centre section and 40.2 cm³/r in a 25-series one.
- Expecting a choice of shaft. A triple is coded with the splined 297 shaft on every series; the straight keyed and heavy-duty codes belong to the double pump.
- Reading outlet 2 against the inlet. On four of the five frames outlet 2 is an offset from outlet 1; only the 4535VQSV10 reads it against the inlet.
- Leaving positions 16 and 17 on an F or P cover. A flow control or priority valve cover needs both the controlled flow and the relief setting written in the code.
- Taking the maximum speed from the frame. Speed follows the delivery of the V10 cover section, and drops further when that section runs above 70 bar.
Ordering
Send the complete model code from the nameplate, or the combination you need — frame, three flow codes, V10 cover and the outlet positions — and we confirm the three sections, the shaft and the port configuration before the order is placed. Where the nameplate is unreadable, photographs of the pump and of the outlet end, together with the machine model, are usually sufficient.
All pumps are supplied as new replacement units, inspected individually before dispatch.
